Spiritual Practice: Bible Reading Part 2

November 30, 2023 | Jake Harp

Today's Bible reading challenge is very similar to the one we issued on day two of NEW LIFE Daily. However, instead of focusing on the generosity of money (like 2 Corinthians 8-9 does), we’ll grab another related section from Paul’s previous instruction to the Corinthians: unity among the believers. Financial generosity was only a part of Paul’s whole teaching to love others in the church sacrificially.

Crawl: Listen to (or read) 1 Corinthians chapters 11-14.

Walk: Listen to (or read) the entire book of 1 Corinthians.

Run: Listen to (or read) the entire book of 1 Corinthians in one sitting.

We can often lose the forest for the trees. As we seek to engage more with Paul and his instructions/challenges/encouragements to the church in Corinth about their finances, it is helpful to first understand his overall thought process.

We encourage you to read the scriptures for yourself. To put yourself even more in the shoes of the Corinthian Jesus-followers, consider listening to the words of this letter instead of reading this time around. The Bible App contains many audio versions of the scriptures. Alternatively, have someone read it out loud while you listen.

May you be blessed by your time in God's word today.
